A sale a day...

So I brought in another deal this week, and the gods of fortuitous timing must have been smiling on me that day, for not only did the sale allow me to meet a previous target set by my CEO, it also occurred on the one day he showed his face in our office this month. So yes, a good productive day. My view on the job changes like the colour of leaves in October. From moments of exuberance to moments of mind-draining boredom, I sometimes wonder if it could result in bouts of manic-depressiveness. Like some weird psycho-somatic crossover.

The best part of bringing in the deal was in the expectation. The build up. Creating the value proposition in the mind of the prospect and seeing them become excited. When they start to sell ME on why they should buy. The moment before they say the most simple word in the English language, the one I use when asked whether I want fries with that. Yes. In this instance it holds greater significance...because of any moments during my brief tenure, this is the one that could well be considered a tipping point.

Hitting the sales target vaunts me into the exalted league of "senior" execs at the firm. A bigger salary and a nicer title. I am now one of the guys they talk about in the training school. Funny thing is, the guy they talked about in MY training school took an extended leave of absence a few months ago and has yet to be seen since. So no, I don't hold any expectations of where I'll be in a month from now. But, for a brief moment, I'm in the drivers seat and I intend on staying there.

tired...sleep needed. peace.
